This photo was captured in April, 2012 during the school's 'On the Land' trip. This trip involved going out with 6 students, a local Elder and two teachers for 5 days to setup camp and teach the students some of the skills needed to make camp and survive. The trip was an amazing experience for all who participated and several of the nights we were treated to a spectacular display of the Aurora Borealis in all their splendour.
In short, my story is that I love the outdoors and enjoy few things more than a day of unrestricted exploration with my camera and lunch tucked away in my backpack. This blog is filled with a variety of the subjects that have captured my interest and heart through the years. For the last three years I have been living and teaching in Norman Wells, Northwest Territories. I have taught grades 3/4, 5/6 and am currently working as the Grade 9 homeroom teacher. Over the next few months I have the good fortune of teaching a photography course and I hope to begin adding to this photoblog again. Stay tuned...
